Working feverishly, scientists are marrying biology with technology to give us answers. Red eyes? Maybe. Slower responses? Yes. Not so definitive though. Mental-based tests then can either confirm your qualities on certain jobs or check how well you follow moving objects with your eyes.
Think of a fella in your neighborhood, Greg, who says he drives best when he is high. Stop it. No he does not. Just like how driving with fog and no map freely can slow reflexes and impair judgement. And as if rating a person’s dance moves during the song, trying to pinpoint impairment as it happens is what these new tests help to do.
But we are not quite there. These tests are still in works. Of course, police are on board and weary. As technology changes fast, they are trying to find the right balance between privacy and accuracy.
Or imagine this, you walk into a room and a gadget smartphone-size can determine your THC level? Not happening. Science fiction at this point. But with all the new technology and legal hurdles in our way it is our lives we will work with for now.
PS. No magic tool will tell you how high you are in seconds. Safety is more important at this level though. Testing for marijuana impairment is as fun as untangling christmas lights or solving an interesting puzzle. Lets just say it requires a lot of patience and creativity than miracles.
